Double Klondike Solitaire is a card game that requires the player to follow specific Klondike Solitaire rules with two decks instead of one. The player attempts to transfer cards from nine columns and a draw pile to a foundation area. They also try to unlock new modes and levels.
The player starts with the Beginner mode. To move from Level 1 to Level 2 within it, they must earn a specific number of points. Before play, they must choose easy 1-card draws or hard 3-card draws.
On the table screen, the player can use the Settings button to adjust the sound, turn off auto-transfer, switch to left-handed play, and select alternative card backs and faces and background designs. They can select a new game at any time, review challenging tasks and weekly, monthly and all-time leaderboard rankings, and seek hints via the buttons near Settings. Common tasks include winning the game in less than 390 seconds or 280 steps and playing 40 minutes in a row. They track their score, time and moves along the top of the screen.
In the upper-left area, Double Klondike Solitaire displays eight instead of four foundation spaces. The player must build piles in each of these spots with ascending order A-to-K cards of the same color and suit. They complete this task by creating descending K-to-A partial builds of columns with cards of alternating colors and suits. The game provides free cells under the top of each column that they can use for a partial K-down build transfer at any time.
